Volunteer State Bank Welcomes New Additions to Leadership Team

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – September 6, 2022 – Volunteer State Bank welcomes Karen Matlock, Angie DeGuira and Lindsey Hammons to its leadership team. These additions serve to further support the bank’s continued growth strategy and its ongoing commitment to provide exceptional client experiences, unwavering community support and cultivating an excellent work environment for its team. 

Karen Matlock will serve as Senior Vice President, Loan Operations. Matlock holds 25 years of banking experience, with extensive expertise in commercial and consumer lending. Most recently, Matlock held a leadership role at Reliant Bank where she served as Senior Vice President, Loan Processing Manager. In this position, Matlock managed a large team and led lending processes and directives for the bank. Matlock has also worked as a Senior Paralender at AmSouth Bank and the Lead Loan Support Officer for The Bank of Nashville. Matlock attended Middle Tennessee State University where she studied finance. In her new role, Matlock is responsible for management and oversight of loan fulfillment and servicing for Volunteer State Bank. 

Angie DeGuira will serve as Senior Vice President, Chief Retail Officer and Marketing Director. DeGuira brings 16 years of banking experience in marketing, public relations and leading retail banking teams. Most recently, DeGuira served as Vice President, Regional Marketing Manager for Simmons Bank.  In this role, she managed a multi-state team and led marketing initiatives for the bank.  Prior to her marketing role, DeGuira also served as Market Retail Manager for Simmons Bank, where she led the retail banking team in Middle TN.  She is a graduate of Lambuth University where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and management. In her new role, DeGuira is responsible for management and oversight of retail banking, marketing, market research and communication initiatives for Volunteer State Bank.

Lindsey Hammons will serve as Vice President, Marketing, Engagement and Communications. With over 15 years of banking experience, Hammons’ knowledge and experience includes retail banking, cultural, employee and community relations, marketing and corporate communications. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University with a concentration in advertising and mass communication. Prior to joining Volunteer State Bank, Hammons held leadership roles at Reliant Bank, including Vice President, Marketing and Corporate Culture and Vice President, Brand and Culture. Most recently, Hammons served as Assistant Vice President, Culture and Engagement at Wilson Bank and Trust. In her new role, Hammons will help lead and develop marketing initiatives, foster and grow cultural drivers and pilot corporate communications for Volunteer State Bank.
